Muneeza

“The only person I am willing to bet on is me.”

Muneeza is a 36 year old lawyer and senior partner at Levitt LLP. What’s most important to her is using the platforms she’s provided with effectively as a professional advocate, and never taking them for granted. She uses her influence to educate people on what it means to be a Muslim. Muneeza told me she’s “working hard to dispel myths around what Muslim women should look like, act like, and be.” Her identity as a lawyer and a person are very intertwined. She even told me the courtroom is where she feels the most alive. Muneeza’s favourite quality about herself is that she’s not scared of anyone and that she personifies fearlessness. When she’s not advocating for people’s rights and breaking stereotypes, she loves spending time with her kids (especially binge watching Fuller House), working out, and collapsing at a spa every chance she gets.

Q&A Feature:

What makes you laugh so much it hurts?

Hanging out with my baby sister.

How do you want to be perceived?

Strong, kind, and smart. I want to be someone that my 8-year-old looks up to, and on some level, aspires to be like.
